Lead the collection and formulation of business requirements for Operational Technology (OT) to Information Technology (IT) integration projects. Work in close partnership with the Infrastructure solution Architect to translate business needs into functional requirements, ensuring solutions are robust, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
Key Responsibilities
● Business Requirements Gathering:
◦ Engage with business stakeholders to understand and document processes that require OT to IT integration, pain points, and integration needs between OT and IT systems.
◦ Facilitate workshops to elicit and clarify use cases specific to OT/IT convergence (e.g., asset data flows, real-time monitoring, automation, security requirements).
◦ Ensure requirements are clear, measurable, and traceable to business objectives.
● Functional Requirements Definition (with Architect):
◦ Collaborate with the Infrastructure Architect to jointly refine business requirements into functional requirements, focusing on system interactions, data integration, security, and compliance.
◦ Co-author functional specifications that bridge OT operational needs and IT solution capabilities.
◦ Define acceptance criteria and non-functional requirements (performance, reliability, cybersecurity, interoperability).
● Process & Value Mapping:
◦ Model current and target OT/IT processes using BPMN.
◦ Prioritize requirements based on business value, impact and feasibility.
● Architecture Alignment:
◦ Ensure all requirements are feasible within the target IT/OT landscape and comply with architecture governance.
◦ Participate in architecture reviews and solution design sessions.
● Change Enablement:
◦ Support change management activities to ensure successful adoption of integrated OT/IT solutions.
Required Experience & Skills
● Proven experience in business analysis for OT/IT integration projects (e.g., SCADA, IoT, industrial automation, asset management).
● Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
● Expertise in requirements engineering, process modeling (BPMN), and functional specification writing.
● Experience working with architects to co-develop functional requirements and solution options.
● Understanding of enterprise IT/OT landscapes, security, and compliance in OT/IT environments.
● Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
● Knowledge of application of “ISO/IEC/IEEE 29148 - Systems and software engineering — Life cycle processes — Requirements engineering” would be a huge advantage.
Collaboration Model
● The Sr. Business Analyst / Requirements Engineer is responsible for collecting and formulating business requirements.
● Together with the Infrastructure Architect, the RE co-defines functional requirements, ensuring both business needs and technical feasibility are addressed.
● Both roles jointly own the requirements pack and solution alignment before hand-off to delivery teams. Solliciteer nu!
